Why do I run? So that I can eat.
Eating is not just something that gives me energy or keeps me alive. It is a joy, a pleasurable past time, one of the many things that keep my senses in motion.
Food engages all our senses - sight, smell, taste, touch and sound. The many colours of a fresh summer salad. The aroma of that master stock as you lift the pot lit. The many flavours that hit your palate as you finally taste that beautiful dish. The melt-in-your-mouth texture of that perfect butter pastry. And yes, even sound - like the sizzle of a juicy piece of steak as it hits the grill, the satisfying crunch of pork crackling, or the deliciously slurpy sound that noodles make as you suck them up into your mouth.
So follow my food adventures here, as I eat my way around Melbourne and, hopefully, the world.
